Personal PAC Endorses Ald. Knudsen in 43rd Ward Race

Brian Comer Failed to Respond to One of State’s Leading Reproductive Rights Organization

Chicago — Personal PAC, one of the state’s leading reproductive rights organizations, has endorsed Alderman Timmy Knudsen in the runoff election.

Personal PAC has helped to elect more than 500 pro-choice leaders in Illinois since 1989. The organization announced their endorsement after Ald. Knudsen returned a 100% pro-choice questionnaire.

Brian Comer did not respond to Personal PAC’s questionnaire, raising questions about his commitment to their mission.

“Fighting for fundamental rights is something I’ve been doing my whole adult life,” said Alderman Timmy Knudsen. “I was proud to work alongside Personal PAC to help advance critical legislation to codify reproductive rights into Illinois law, and as alderman, I’ve voted to protect abortion access and bodily autonomy — and will continue working to protect our city’s status as a safe haven for those seeking reproductive health care. Having the support of Personal PAC and so many progressive leaders is very empowering in a campaign where I am running as the first openly gay alderman of the 43rd Ward. I will always push for progress — because it’s personal to me.”

“This has been a challenging period for the protection of abortion rights across the United States, but our local leaders took principled steps to make Chicago an oasis for necessary reproductive healthcare,” said Personal PAC CEO Sarah Garza Resnick. “It is imperative that our representatives in City Council take bold leadership in protecting our rights. I’m proud to say that all of our endorsed candidates have demonstrated the integrity and commitment necessary to ensure we continue to protect abortion access in Chicago.”

Personal PAC joins a growing and diverse coalition of support behind Knudsen’s campaign for 43rd Ward Alderman. The full list can be found here: https://www.knudsenfor43.com/endorsements.
